The Watson McDaniel Series 1031, 1041, 1032, and 1042 Inverted Bucket Traps are available in several sizes from 1/2" , 3/4" , 1" and several capacity ranges.

 

IB Series inverted bucket steam traps are used in drip applications to remove condensate from steam mains and steam supply lines. For drip applications, the smaller sized units have adequate capacity. The discharge orifice of the inverted bucket trap is mounted at the top of the trap body, which makes them less susceptible to failure from dirt and debris when compared to other trap types. Since Inverted Bucket traps have poor air-handling capability, they are normally not recommended for most process applications.

The Watson McDaniel Series 1031,1032,1033,1034,1041, and 1042 Inverted Bucket Traps are available in several sizes and capacity ranges. Inverted bucket traps can handle superheated steam when a check valve is used. The smaller traps are primarily used in drip and tracer applications. These traps are also used on unit heaters, laundry equipment, and other process equipment where slow start-up due to poor air handling capability can be tolerated. Larger sizes are used on process equipment; however, since bucket traps have limited air handling capability, F&T traps are the preferred choice. These compact and ruggedly-designed inverted bucket steam traps are recommended for all services where the most important requirements are overall operating efficency, freedom from maintenance and long, trouble-free service life.
