Teflon (PTFE) gage glass washers are used in tubular sight-glass assemblies on steam boilers and are designed for service where higher temperature resistance and chemical exposure are a concern. These washers are made from PTFE material and rated for continuous use up to approximately 450 °F. They provide excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals and solvents. The washers are available in standard sizes to fit most liquid-level gauge assemblies and are offered in 12-pack quantities. When installing, verify the inner- and outer-diameter of the washer match your gauge glass, and ensure the sealing surfaces are clean, flat and free of corrosion or pitting. Replace the washer whenever the gauge glass or mounting components are removed to maintain a reliable seal.
