Radiator steam traps are used in two pipe steam heating systems to remove air and condensate while preventing live steam loss. Proper trap selection improves heat transfer, reduces energy waste, and helps minimize noise and water hammer.
These traps are available in multiple configurations including right angle, straight through, vertical, and balanced pressure designs to match different piping layouts and operating conditions. Most models feature brass bodies with replaceable thermostatic elements and seats, allowing in line service and reduced maintenance downtime.
Common connection sizes include 1/2 and 3/4 NPT, with pressure ratings suitable for low and moderate pressure steam systems. Selecting the correct trap based on system pressure, installation orientation, and serviceability ensures long term performance and reliable operation.
