TFE (PTFE) with Hypalon® washers are engineered for use in liquid-level gauge assemblies where high temperature, high pressure and aggressive chemical exposure are present. The combination material offers the chemical inertness and low friction of TFE with the flexibility and durability of Hypalon® (a chlorosulfonated polyethylene synthetic rubber). These washers are rated for continuous service up to approximately 500 °F (260 °C) and are available in a variety of standard sizes to fit most gauge glass assemblies. Before installation, ensure the sealing surfaces are clean, flat and free of corrosion or pitting. Replace the washer whenever the glass or other mounting components are removed to maintain a reliable, leak-resistant seal.
