The Watson McDaniel WD600S thermodynamic steam trap is used as a drip trap on steam mains and supply lines, featuring an integral stainless steel strainer and optional blowdown valve for added protection. Its rugged construction makes it well suited for outdoor, freeze prone, and superheated steam applications. While it may be used for tracing, thermostatic traps are typically preferred for that service.
Designed to automatically remove condensate and air, the WD600S supports freeze resistant installations and is commonly applied in high pressure drips, pressing machines, tanks, dryers, and industrial process equipment. It operates at pressures up to 600 PSI and temperatures up to 750°F and is constructed entirely of hardened stainless steel. This trap is not weldable and is not available with socket weld connections.
